Nicole Harrison joined Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center in 2011 and currently holds the position of Associate Vice President of the neuroscience service line with Mischer Neuroscience Institute. In this role, she led the hospital in successfully achieving Texas’s first Comprehensive Stroke Center designation by The Joint Commission. In addition to the neuroscience program, various support departments fall under her leadership structure.
Nicole began her nursing career over 20 years ago as a neuro ICU nurse. Since then, she has served in leadership roles, is a member of multiple professional nursing organizations, is actively involved in numerous quality improvement initiatives, and participates in community events focusing on stroke prevention. Additionally, Nicole was a Director at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she had operational and clinical oversight of multiple in-patient areas and support programs.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Baylor University and a Master of Business Administration from American Intercontinental University. She attended the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business financial management course, Clinical Safety and Effectiveness education program and Lean Six Sigma green belt training and received her board certification as an Advance Nurse Executive. Nicole also is a 2014 and 2015 Excellence in Nursing bronze medalist in the Nursing Administration and Leadership category.
