Daniel Friedrichs, Ph.D., senior principal engineer for surgical energy at Minnetronix, was featured in the July 2025 issue of Medical Design Briefs for his article on the latest trends in ablation technology.

The article, titled “Burn, Freeze, Shock or Shear: The Expanding Frontiers of Ablation Therapies”, covers several modalities of ablation (including cryoablation, microwave and radiofrequency ablation, ultrasound, and electric field ablation), and several emerging innovations in the field. Additionally, Friedrichs touches on emerging innovations such as less invasive procedures and enhanced selectivity and efficacy.
